Data We Capture during Drone Flying

The use of our drones for capturing imagery is always for a specific purpose. This is detailed in our company tasking documentation. When planning drone flights we take into account its effect on individuals and their privacy. We have regular reviews to ensure its use remains justified.  All our flying operations are undertaken within the limitations of our Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Permission to undertake aerial work.

When conducting drone operations in public areas we place signs to advise the general public we are conducting drone operations and potentially gathering imagery.  Individuals have a right to being provided with any information/imagery we hold of them & we will provide this within 40 days of receiving an emailed request and the payment of a £20 fee.  To identify the information concerned we require the date, time and location where the information was gathered. We need your contact details and a recent photo in order to be able to identify you in the imagery. We will send you any imagery of you that we may hold.

Data captured as a result of drone operations or via our web site is appropriately protected and only used for the purposes for which it has been gathered.

Access to retained images and information is restricted to ASG personnel. The disclosure of images and information only takes place when it is necessary for the intended purpose or for law enforcement purposes. All our drone operators are qualified to recognised CAA standards.
